About Us

Pacific Opportunities provides services to adults who have barriers to employment. We help these adults gain employment so they can eventually become financially independent. Our employment specialists and job coaches are qualified professionals with the training and experience needed to support your business and your new employee. We offer support from start to finish.

Clients complete an assessment process and are selected by our company because they are motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic candidates. We recommend the best candidates for the job. We provide job coaching at no cost to the employer and will assist with completing and sending in all tax credit paperwork. We are a small, locally owned company, NOT an employment agency that charges for its services.

Pacific Opportunites strives to provide successful outcomes in:

Competitive, Integrated Employment

Customized Employment

Self-Employment

Pacific Opportunities specializes in helping adults find and maintain employment.

We take into account each client’s work history, personal barriers, employment goals, and other metrics to assist each client individually. We use an evidence-based approach, along with one-on-one support, to help each of our clients achieve their work-related goals.

Some clients need help before they enter the job market, while others have maintained a steady job for years. We help each client work through the three steps of employment:

  • 1st step - Pre-Employment

  • 2nd step - Supported Employment

  • 3rd step - Supported Employment Maintenance

1st Step: Pre-employment

Learning about what’s out there and where you fit in. Before you go out and get that full- or part-time job, you may not know where to start. It’s important for us to help outline what success looks like.

We offer two services in this category:

1. Career Exploration

2. Community-Based Work Assessment

These services are accessed through each county’s Vocational Rehabilitation office and help our agency learn more about each client.

2nd Step: Preparing for, finding, and working your new job

3rd Step: Long-term Supported Employment

This is the final phase for our clients. Many clients want to maintain a relationship with us for years, while some decide that they no longer need a job coach. We work with our clients to decide when our services are no longer needed so we can be phased out completely. Of course, many find it helpful to continue to work directly with us for years! SCs or PAs help to make the decision.

Our services are designed using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, which started in the U.S. and has gained traction worldwide as the strongest evidence-based approach to Supported Employment (SE). IPS is based on guiding principles, all of which are addressed through our comprehensive service list.

Pacific Opportunites works directly with Vocational Rehabilitation offices located throughout the state of Oregon. Any Oregonian with a disability who is having difficulty getting or keeping a job because of disability-related barriers is eligible. To find out if we serve in your area please reach out to us!
